Children do very well with acupuncture. A boy with behavioral problems is receiving acupuncture to stimulate his brain.

Body acupuncture

An open ulceration of the elbow is treated with acupuncture. The lesion healed during my clinical experience.

This patient is receiving moxa (moxabustion) and electrical stimulation through needles. Moxa is an herb formulation that warms the body and removes cold trapped in the body. It is burned on or close to the surface of the skin. The herb has an aroma similar to cannabis.

Moxa on needles is a popular treatment for neck pain. The procedure is relaxing and effective.

Cupping

Cupping promotes circulation to the skin and is effective in removing toxins from the body.

Orbital Acupuncture

Orbital acupuncture is specialized and is not practiced very widely, although it is very effective.

Facial Acupuncture

Facial acupuncture is more widely practiced. It reduces facial pain, rejuvenates the face and boosts the immune system.

Alopecia

Patients with alopecia (baldness or hair loss) come regularly to the clinic and are happy with their medical care. There was a relatively high incidence of alopecia in young females in the clinic population. 

Plum Blossom

Plum Blossom is the technique of tapping the skin lightly with a hammer-like device with needles to stimulate blood supply to the skin. It is great for children and those who are very ill. Plum Blossom has been practiced for more than 1,000 years. After practicing acupuncture for more than nine years in America, I started out at the bottom in the Chinese clinics. 

Scalp Acupuncture

One of my classmates is experiencing scalp acupuncture, which is used on stroke patients and those who have headaches. Scalp acupuncture is practiced widely and can be used to treat the whole body.
